Akin Adeoya is Publisher, Editor-in-Chief of M2, Nigeria’s sole Marketing and Management weekly in publication since 2004. M2 reaches over 20,000 professionals in Nigeria’s commercial landscape and benefits from the immense experience of the publisher who was the pioneer specialist newspaper writer who helped make brand marketing reporting popular in Nigeria with exploits in THISDAY, one of Nigeria’s leading newspapers where he functioned as a writer for many years.


He started his professional career in Rosabel Advertising(Now Rosabel Leo Burnett) in the early 90s where he distinguished himself as an award winning copywriter, working on several national brands, including First bank, IGI, Gold circle and many UAC brands like Gala and Coconut chips at launch. In the mid to late 90s he spent many years as executive creative consultant to Explicit Communications, a notable Lagos advertising agency where he was responsible for the entire creative product of the agency.

His consulting career led him to found Marketing Mix, a leading Marketing Communications firm based in Lagos which, over the last ten years has become well known for its work for many multinational brands including MTN Nigerian communications, Unilever Nigerian plc, Proctor and Gamble, Nestle, The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), The Nigeria Police and Benokin Foods, a fledgling manufacturer of world class beverages. With staff strength of nearly 50, Marketing Mix continues to provide critical solutions for high net worth individuals and corporate who desire top-of-the-mind positive awareness and a premium place at the heart of consumer decisions.
In the sponsorship arena, Akin Adeoya is respected for having successfully pulled off; working with his teams in Marketing Mix and M2 some of the biggest events and consumer driven programs in Nigeria. For five years he led the team that successfully staged the MTN Lagos International Half Marathon at Marketing Mix. He is also responsible for the inaugural Nigerian People and Police Marathon in Abuja and the pulsating annual music festival, The Bafana bafana popularly regarded as the biggest networking party for managers on the cutting edge of business. He says this is his gift to the industry, among many other major projects.
He has consulted for state governments, including Lagos and Ekiti states, The Federal Government of Nigeria, and is a member of Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), The British Chartered Institute of Marketing(CIM), The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria(APCON), African Public Relations Association, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations(NIPR), National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria(NIMN) and
is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University and many international institutions.

Mr Adeoya is responsible for the launch of the Global Marketing Network(GMN) in Nigeria and is the initiator of the Brandwagon roundtable which brings together managers on the cutting edge of business to brainstorm on the major issues of the day.
Among leading personalities hosted by Brandwagon are Mr Larry Etta, MD, UAC group, Udeme Ufot; Founder and CEO, SO&U, a top 10 Nigerian ad agency; Olu Akanmu, Managing Director, Retail banking, Bank PHB; Lolu Akinwunmi, MD of Prima garnet, another top ten Nigerian ad agency, Mr Biodun Shobanjo and Chief Akin Odunsi, doyens of Advertising in Nigeria, Mr. Bola Akingbade, Former CMO, Nigerian Breweries and current Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, MTN Nigeria; Opeyemi Bamidele, Hon commissioner, Lagos state; Yinka Akande, Director of Communications, Etisalat and Mrs Amina Oyagbola, HR Director, MTN. Mr. Adeoya is passionate about Nigeria, his country and has been responsible for the privately funded Brand Nigeria Conference 1 and 2 and continues to write widely about this and other relevant marketing subjects. His great interest lies in Competitive strategy and the invention of ideas to solve modern business problems. As a consummate investor, he has interests in several sectors of the Nigerian economy, including sitting on the board of Goshen Farms and Hotel 1960 Hospitality Group
